Master Wright has been practicing martial arts for a long time. He started his formal martial arts training at an early age, learning Tang Soo Do in the late 1980's. In 1995, Master Wright found a school in Burton, MI teaching a variation of Hapkido. Excited to see all that this art had to offer, he started his journey. He enjoyed learning martial arts so much that it lead him to travel all over the world to study and practice to this day. In 2020, he began to study Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from the Gracie Family. Having gone though extensive instructor training, he has achieved the honor of making the Pivot Point Martial Arts Center in Burton an official Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Certified Training Center®.
Master Wright is a follower of Jesus. His faith influences all that he does and it is not uncommon to see him praying with a student who is in need.

School History
Our Kuk Sool school has been serving the Greater Flint area since 1993. Started by Bryan and Paulette Lingenfelter teaching the art of Kuk Sool at the direction of the Founder (In Hyuk Suh). The husband and wife team had both just earned their black belts under Master Victor Quarles in South Carolina before relocating to the Greater Flint area.
In 1995 a new student joined who would eventually be the instructor. Kenneth A Wright began studying under Bryan and Paulette with a hunger for knowledge and skill. After just 3 years of intense effort he earned his black belt in Kuk Sool and several Grand Champion titles at various tournaments. Young student Wright continued to support the school and his instructors until they offered to sell the school to him.
Young Wright, now being just 19 years old spent all he had to purchase the rights to the school and adopt the students as his own. This was personally overseen by Founder In Hyuk Suh and Wright was then promoted to 2nd degree black belt. Wright faithfully operated the school for years while earning his 3rd and 4th degree black belt by 2010.
It was at this time that Instructor Wright was lead by God's Holy Spirit to quit his other career and run the school full time. Instructor Wright and his Wife (Amanda) stepped out in faith together and the Lord brought the students. Just months later, they outgrew their small garage location and had to move to accommodate all the new students. Wright went on to win many more tournament titles and earn respect from martial artist worldwide. One in particular was Master Sung Jin Suh (eldest son of Kuk Sool Founder In Hyuk Suh).
Master Sung Jin Suh took Wright as his student in 2012. He would take the time to work with Instructor Wright whenever he had the chance, helping Wright to excel in his skill at a much faster rate than ever before. In 2016, Wright was personally promoted by In Hyuk Suh to the rank of Master. This was one of Master Wright's life goals. Shortly after, in 2017 he was invited to join the National Seminar Team teaching and leading seminars from Texas to Northern California. This was another one of Master Wright's goals.
In 2020, Master Wright was sad to discover that In Hyuk Suh had changed the direction he was leading his organization. Master Wright, disagreeing with this direction, shared his concerns with In Hyuk Suh and parted ways, renaming the school Pivot Point Martial Arts.
Master Wright, then hungry for more, decided to start learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a beginner. After a dedicated, yet short time, Wright earned his blue belt and was certified as an instructor under Ryron and Rener Gracie (eldest grandsons of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Founder Helio Gracie). This step made his school the first Gracie Jiu-Jitsu® Certified Training Center in the Greater Flint area.
As time continued, Kuk Sool Founder In Hyuk Suh separated from Master Sung Jin Suh (his eldest son). Master Sung Jin Suh has since developed the martial art Mirae Kuk Sool™️ and has been continuing to teach Master Wright to this day and has subsequently promoted him to 6th Degree Master.
With the help of our instructor team, we are branching out to the Grand Blanc area to bring Gracie Jiu-Jitsu® to more people.
